I was born in Shanghai, which is on the east of China. It is the biggest city in Asia, which means it is heavily populated; there are 16 million inhabitants there.
Shanghai is a beautiful city, there are six bridges over the River Huang PU that link two parts of Shanghai together. On the western bank of the Huang PU river, there are over 30 older buildings along the river that have been there for 130 years; On the eastern bank of river, many new skyscrapers stand near the river, that mixture of old age and modern time architecture is quite magnificent. Also Shanghai is a modern city; you can buy anything like cars, watches, perfume, diamonds and all luxurious goods which come from other countries.
A long time ago, Shanghai's main industries were financing, commerce and manufacturing. Now the financing sector has been developed a great deal more than other economic sectors. Banks, that are amongst the 20 biggest banks in the world, set up business in Shanghai, and there are many opportunities of profiting in the stock market that attracts people who came from all over the world.
There are many things to do and places to see in Shanghai, such as Yu garden which is a traditional Chinese garden built in 1559; Formula 1 and Moto GP car races are in the top class of world car racing. If you like food Shanghai is a good place to be, you can taste so many different types of Chinese food in Shanghai, e.g. sweet, hot and many other tastes of food. You won't be disappointed.
People may want to ask what the weather is like in Shanghai. It is very mild in spring and autumn, but it could be very warm in summer and winter is cold. Sometimes the temperature drops to minus 8 degrees. People are very friendly and they always treat the visitors with respect.
